Robert Foster, a former businessman turned politician, held the esteemed position of Mayor in Long Beach, California. His mayoral tenure began with a runoff election victory in 2006. Before his time as mayor, Foster's career saw him rise through the ranks at Southern California Edison, ultimately becoming its president in 2002. His dedication to public service also led to an appointment by Governor Pete Wilson to the California State University Board of Trustees in 1998. Foster's earlier professional background includes work as a consultant on state energy policy for the California State Senate.
